由中華游樂會主辦的第60屆全港網球公開賽將於2008年11月1日正式展開，現已接受報名。這個一年一度舉行的網球壇盛事將展開共16場公開賽事，(包括男子單打、男子雙打、女子單打、女子雙打、混合雙打、男學生單打、男學生雙打、女學生單打、35歲或以上男子單打、35歲或以上男子雙打、45歲或以上元老雙打、55歲或以上男子雙打霍英東博士盃、65歲或以上元老雙打、40歲或以上女子雙打、40歲或以上混合雙打及150歲或以上男子雙打組合賽)。賽事項目極之多元化，目的為全面推動香港的網球運動，令更多有興趣的市民可一展身手。

今屆的網球公開賽，有幸得到霍英東基金會作為大會贊助人，亦得到各大贊助商的鼎力支持，包括指定流動通訊網絡商香港移動通訊有限公司、指定網球供應商Dunlop、和興白花油、攝影工作室Baby Dreamland及屈臣氏蒸餾水。賽事總獎金今年高達142,500港元，希望藉此可鼓勵更多運動員參與比賽，牽起一股網球熱潮，繼而帶動及提升香港的網球水平。

The 60th Chinese Recreation Club Open Tennis Tournament will be held on 1st November this year. This major tennis competition is renowned for its appeal to players of all ages and levels. A total of 16 categories will be held this year. (Including Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Ladies’ Singles, Ladies’ Doubles, Mixed Doubles, School Boy’s Singles, School Boy’s Doubles, School Girl’s Singles, 35 or Over Men’s Singles, 35 or Over Men’s Doubles, 45 or Over Men’s Doubles, 55 or Over Men’s Doubles, 65 or Over Men’s Doubles, 40 or Over Ladies’ Doubles, 40 or Over Mixed Doubles and 150 Years of Over Combined Men’s Doubles.) With this diversified categories, this surely can help to further promote tennis in Hong Kong.

This is a well known tennis event in Hong Kong, this year CRC is go glad to have Fok Ying Tung Foundation as the Patron, other sponsor included official mobile operator CSL Limited, official ball sponsor Dunlop, Hoe Hin Pak Fah Yeow, Babydreamland and Watsons Water, are also fully support this prestigious tennis tournament. In order to attract the top Hong Kong tennis players and to encourage tennis enthusiasts to participate, CRC also has offered cash prize $142,500 to the winners.
